So many times, folks will contact P.A.V.E. and ask what the experience of other parents has been.  This blog is open to EVERYONE for just that reason.  Please post a question, or answer a question, or just follow along.  We're all here to help each other!

Re: ASK OTHER PARENTS....

My name is Steve. I have an 8 year old son who has been recommended for Vision Therapy. My wife and I are on a tight budget, but we could make this work if we needed to. Has anyone faced this before. The financial strain will hurt, but by son is worth it. Help!

Re: ASK OTHER PARENTS....

Steve....my husband and I were in a similar position a few months back. I ended up getting a second job to help for the costs of Vision Therapy since our insurance did not cover it. Vision Therapy has totally improved my daughter's life and I am soooooooo happy we decide to do it. I think you should do whatever it takes.

Thanks PAVE for the great website! I would like to know where I can find out more information about Vision Therapy? Anyone have resources?

Cynthia -- There are some great websites listed in the "Need a
Referral" section of this website. Check them out. They really helped me alot!

Will we see the results right away.

Our son has struggled with reading and spelling for all of his short 9 1/2 years. It is so hard to see him struggle. I just want to see the results so we know this is helping. I also wondered if this would help in other areas, like behavior and sports?

Re: ASK OTHER PARENTS....

Tonya....it is estimated that 93% of the brain pulls information from the visual system. As a result, we are very "visual creatures". If the input of visual stimulus is "faulty", then the responses, or "output", will not always be appropriate. The end result is poor answers in school, increased frustration in life, and overall poor behavior. Vision Therapy may not be the only answer for your son, but it is certainly going to have a impact.

Re: ASK OTHER PARENTS....

I have gone through the questions and answers which are quoted in the above box. We are Indian, English is not our mother tongue. All the same we have developed our english knowledge by some efforts.

I have an one year daughter. I want to make her versatile. Up to what extent Vision Therapy will help her to develop. How to bring that threapy into implimentation.

Where od I get it? how?
